How Do Press Releases Improve Your Website’s Ranking?

Every website holder wants his website to be in the top results of the search engine. In this article, I will discuss press release and its effect on a website’s ranking in the search engine result page.

What is a Press Release?

The press release is a phenomenon that started in 1906 when a train wreck had to be reported by the concerned authorities.

Press releases were given to journalists so they could publish it to draw the public’s interest. Simple examples include award functions, product launches, and unfortunate incidents. The most common source of press releases are news channels and news websites.

The reason behind sending a press release to trigger news media hubs to share an event that is about to happen or has happened in a company.

Earlier press releases were officially given in hard copies and printed on the traditional papers. With time, however, things have changed and now social media sites, play a very important role in spreading information faster and to a massive audience.

Do Press Releases help SEO?

Press releases certainly help SEO.

If done right, a well-written press release can bring a lot of visitors to your website.

How Press Release Affect Website’s Ranking?

Being just one of the many factors which boost SEO, press releases do a good job for a lot of businesses. Just writing a press release is not sufficient for ranking; much has to be done to secure a top ranking position.

How Press Release Increases Your Ranking?

Here are all merits of a press release concerning a website’s ranking.

Your website Earns Backlinks

This is a top-notch benefit for a website’s ranking. If you have just initiated your website, then there’s a lot of work to be done.

Earning backlinks means that your website’s authority has increased.

One thing needs to be clarified here; earning quality backlinks is important. The quantity is one factor but the quality of backlinks is more important.

By earning backlinks, your website gets good exposure to people who haven’t ever visited it before.

Earning the goodwill of trusted websites is more pivotal as it will help your website in ranking higher in the search engine in fairly less time as compared to if your website earns backlinks from poor sites.

Here are a few hacks we use to build Google trust signals.

Brand Awareness Enhances Customer Visit

Whenever a product or a business is to be given out to the public, the ethos is to make it available for a number of people.

With the help of press release, you can easily navigate new customers on your website.

This will make your brand visible to more people and will also uplift the website for Google.

Diverse Link Profile is Crucial

When you publish a press release, your content will get multiple links from different platforms. Depending on the number of visitors on the publishing website, the audience from their sites will visit yours.

It is recommended to also follow these tactics for internal link building for better user engagement and ranking on Google.

A Good Platform for a Brand

Every site that links with your website is a full-fledged platform for your business. As explained earlier a sound website is great for your business. Every backlink that you earn on your press release will bring more visitors to your website.

If even one of the visitors turns out to be a corporate client, then your business can profit well.

Relevant Traffic

Earning traffic on a website is very valuable for any website holder. Having relevant traffic means that Google will very likely position the site in the top search results.

People visit to find some information. If a visitor doesn’t find relevant information, then they will immediately go back, thus causing the bounce rate to increase.

If your website has relevant content and meets the needs of the visitors, then they will spend more time on it. Increasing time spent on a website is a very good factor for Google. Your website will very likely be ranking in the top positions because of this.

Visitors will Convert

Many websites have different buttons which require some information about the visitor.

The mechanism is very simple, once a person visits a website, they become a visitor, but when they give some information in the form of email ID or by registering for the weekly newsletter then, they convert.

A website’s engagement rate is yet another major factor which Google takes into account when ranking websites. Moreover, if your press release compels the prospective customer to purchase through the website, then you’ve won!

Earned Customer Value

When a press release is posted over the web, the results depend on how customers welcome that content. In case the customers like the press release, then they will likely be sharing the content over social media.

Although there is no direct link between social media and Google ranking, but plenty of evidence suggest Google prefers content that is shared over social media. Thus, social signals do help along with press release in getting higher ranks for a website.

Press Release for Local SEO

Through this technique, you can market your business for a local audience. For instance, if you want to market a product to an audience that is nearby or within the city, then press release in a local channel would be a great way to grab attention.

When you write a press release for local SEO then keep in mind that the focus should be on the laymen who will read it.

Good Impression of the Website

If you have worked on all the factors mentioned above, then you will easily build a good impression of the website for search engine.

Google will consider your business a brand when multiple news sites will link to your website – though it takes time for a website to make it to the big list.

A backlink from huge websites with 80+ DA will be strong a vote of confidence. Here see how you can get a backlink from Forbes.

How to Write a Perfect Press Release?

Let’s quickly go through how to write a good press release.

Carve a Catchy Headline

Make sure that you write a smart headline that immediately catches attention. Don’t make it too long. It doesn’t mean that you have to inject fiery words and create controversy.

A catchy headline will convince the customer to immediately press the button and move on with the flow of information.

Use an Interesting Piece of the Story to Tell

If you are writing a press release about a product launch, then try to be creative in your writing.

Mention those details which will compel the audience to buy more interest in that news. Writing a bogus piece of information will only compel the audience to bad mouth your company.

Write Unique Content

Don’t try to copy someone else’s piece of text. Even if the press release is related to an award function which your business is a direct sponsor of, still write about your take on it. Remember that Google likes content that is unique and of good quality.

Your anchor text should also not look like forced sales pitch. Here’s our complete free guide on use of anchor text.

Cut Short on the Word Pool

A long press release might create boredom around your text. Imagine the audience pressing the back button after not getting the information that they were looking for.

Don’t exaggerate the news and write to the point. Using tough vocabulary and too many metaphors might confuse the audience.

Target your Audience

Writing marketing content is easier when it comes to writing for a targeted audience. It is better if you conduct research before drafting a press release.

If your target audience are young people who are above 15 and below 25 then using tough words from the last century might sweep them away. They are more likely to visit your website if you write in accordance with your target audience.

Proofread your Press Release

Before issuing a press release, make sure you proofread it and make all the necessary corrections.

Also, make sure that you update facts and figures according to the information that you want to give out.

For example, if you are writing about a gold bracelet launch which will be published in two days then quote the gold prices that will be effective from the day of the launch.

Issue Press Release to Relevant Places Only

Do not think that issuing a press release to all websites or sources will do the math fast. Just as a press release can be highly beneficial for the company, it could also do the exact opposite. Your news should be linked to relevant sites only.

Here you can see many other useful hacks to get backlinks from high domain authority sites.

Last Thoughts!

Press releases play a small yet very important role in uplifting a website. Getting ranked on the first page is what every website is fighting for, but the use of correct techniques can only take one to that level.

Press Releases were once only regarded as a major marketing tool, but today, they also help website in securing safe ranking.

Google has widely been recognized as the most used search engine in the world. Which is why most of the websites are competing to earn its goodwill.

How To Do Internal Link Building

How To Do Internal Link Building and Why is it Necessary?

There are two types of links.

  1. Internal Links

Internal links are the ones that link to a webpage on the same domain.

  1. External Links

External links are the ones that link to a webpage on a different domain.

These internal and external links are a part of SEO. In this discussion, I will focus on internal link building.

Not only will I discuss this concept in detail but will also tell you about its importance.

In this digital world where there is a need to keep up with the global standards, there is an equal pressure to be number one in everything.

There are many SEO techniques which uplift the website in search results.

So, let’s see what link building is.

What is Internal Link Building?

Simply explained for your understanding, link building is to link one page of a website to another of the same domain. This means that you can get to more information through the same page.

If you want your reader to know more, then you can easily navigate them by internally linking a webpage to the text that they are reading.

Does it apply to All Websites?

Any website that has multiple webpages can easily carry on with link building.

Most websites follow the traditional route of having a home page which then flows into multiple pages. However, there are many websites which differ in style and design.

Some websites have a complex model for link building.

Before we move on to deconstructing the term “internal links”, let’s jump in to understand why they matter so much?

Importance/Benefits of Internal Links

Google’s algorithm changes several times a day. If Google’s algorithm is highly advanced, then it won’t take much time to shortlist a good article.

Let me take you through the top-notch benefits of internal linking strategy 2019.

High Indexation!

This is a strong benefit of good internal linking. If your website has strong dynamics of internal linking then Google crawler will easily rank your content.

Google crawler finds websites through paths and URL’s which does take some time. However, if the above-mentioned step is taken then it will take less time to chase your website.

Lower Bounce Rate!

Are you worried about the increasing bounce rate of your website? Well, internal links will heal bounce rate and inflate the number of page views and the average time spent on your website.

A higher bounce rate is a major drawback for any website. Once internal links are adjusted at the right places, readers will remain engaged, and the website will start to have a lower bounce rate.

Sales Funnel!

If you are trying to market a product through your website to magnify sales, then you can adjust internal links in a way that they directly take your consumer to where they want to go.

Some websites have amazing marketing strategies which compel the customers to make the purchase online at that time.

Authority Flow!

The strength of a website in terms of ranking improves when you build internal links. The idea is that with internal linking, another page is receiving link equity from your side.

With time your website gets stronger in terms of authority.

Improved Customer Experience!

It’s not a hidden fact that a user will be more gratified once they have insightful content with multiple internal links. Not only will the reader remain engaged but will also want to come back to your website.

How does Internal Link Building work?

Since you’re reading about the idea, then let’s move into the crux to understand how it works!

Make sure that you have two things into perspective before you begin:

  1. You should have some content already written. Even if you have a single article, then we can begin with that.
  2. You have to be a frequent writer. This means that you should write articles regularly.

If you can maintain the two points mentioned above, then we can begin now.

Link from Bulk Content Pages To Less Bulky Pages

If your website has a smart architecture for navigation, then you will have enough room for linking webpages internally.

A strong internal structure is established once a website has links that connect multiple articles with one another.

It is always better to work through comprehensive articles.

Use Relevant Anchor Text

What’s an anchor text? Anchor text is a clickable text with a hyperlink.

In the case of internal linking use the one which has a detailed anchor text.

One very important thing is that the correct anchor text is used. Not every anchor text will do the job.

Try using strong phrases which strongly convey information related to the target link.

Are you still confused? Let me give you a simple example of this.

Suppose that I want to write an article on internal linking techniques on SEO 2019, then I would do it like:

  • Top internal linking SEO 2019 techniques for beginners

Or, if I wanted to publish an article about Internal link building then I would do it this way:

  • Tips for Internal Link Building in simple words

You can get an idea of how naturally I have adjusted anchor text in structured sentences.

The anchor text has been adjusted so well that the reader will not find the sentence bizarre.

Update Old Articles by Adding New Internal Links

If you know the power of two forces combined, then you got that right! Internal linking can be strengthened if you rejuvenate the old articles.

After all old is gold! It is best to use the stock that has already been stored in the warehouse.

The front line benefit of working on old content is that it gets a secure space in the spotlight again. Google crawler then views it again and re-indexes it.

Updating old articles is a good idea because it won’t require you to spend as much time as you do when drafting a new article.

Convinced with this idea? You better get started then. Here is a simple way to do it:

  • Update your content by adjusting the new passage at the beginning of the article.
  • Read your content again and update facts and figures.
  • Add new paragraphs in your old article and adjust them naturally.
  • Manage your new content by adding several internal links. It is better for you to adjust links in a way that they navigate you back to older content too.

Great job! Do you know what you just did by following the above process?

  1. You created a new link between a well-established page and one which is not so well made.
  2. Secondly, you are not just refreshing your older content but also helping it improve its ranking value in the search engine.

Links Should Be Added To Places Where Needed Only

This is perhaps the most important thing to be done here!

  • Are you sure about the areas where you want to adjust the internal links?
  • Have you checked all the necessary nooks and crannies in the content?

Many often delay this process.

Please don’t do that!

Many areas in the content are often not credited well or lack coherence. Often the information mentioned is out of context that needs to be changed.

Check facts and figures for any issue and update them in case there is evidence that can be attached immediately.

Always run through the entire content that you have written and try to make the necessary alterations where they are needed. After all, internal links that are feasible for the readers will bring them back.

Make Sure There are No “No-Follow” Links

All websites links are “do-follow” links unless the settings have been changed to link “no-follow.”

“No-follow” links are not suitable for linking profiles, so it is better not to use them.

These sorts of links tend to leave a negative impression on the customer and there are chances that he/she might never return to the website again.

Moreover, “no-follow” links do not work in a page’s favor. If there is a “no-follow” link on a website then what basically it wants is for the search engine to not count in.

Linking To High Converting Pages Is a Must

There are many landing pages which have higher conversion rates as compared to others. It is suggested that you make the best possible use of them.

There are many ways through which you can increase the conversion rate of a landing page. Try to be simple and write to the point.

Grabbing the audience’s attention is pivotal!

The above-mentioned tip was given to you in case you still have to work on your landing page.

However, if your landing page already has a strong voice for conversion rates then try linking your articles to it.

You can also benefit in terms of revenue increase owing to the internal linking mechanism here.

How do we set up an internal link strategy?

From the above-mentioned information, you surely would have got a clear idea of this important aspect. However, an SEO cannot work day and night to improve the internal linking strategy.

The best idea as mentioned already is to use the correct content for adding internal links to. When you will add the correct internal links then the search engine will be successful in understanding the following:

  • The relationship between different pages
  • The value of Pages
  • The relevancy of each page

You will have to make sure that you:

Focus on the traditional structure for your site

You should be crystal clear about the structure of your website. Let’s take a simple example of a pyramid consider your website structure to be that of a pyramid.

  • On the top is your homepage.
  • The next segment is of different categories
  • The last segment consists of different pages and posts

So this means, that structuring your website is the first thing to do.

Select the most important content

This is the next major step to take. Identify with your most important content. Select that part which you believe is the core information which the customers are looking for.

Moreover, if you want Google’s attention then you will have to embed many links in it. You can add:

  • Contextual Links

A contextual link is the one that is present within the body of the content and is directly related to the text around it.

  • Navigational Links

A navigational link allows a user to move around the website with the help of simple menu bars.

How Much is Too Much?

Well, there isn’t any barometer to measure internal link building on a website. The benefits of this technique have substantial weight to convince anyone.

Whenever internal link building is done, the ethos behind is to make sure that the website secures a safe place in search engine.

There is no concrete answer to this question, the only thing that can be done is to feed the beast. This means that quality content will need to be added routinely to the website.

If you are in charge of running SEO or managing content, then your job is to stay focused on the strength of the website.

Most of the top-notch websites which appear easily in the search engine make it to the top after so many efforts have been done.

Last Thoughts!

Internal link building has a concrete stake in making a website successful in terms of grabbing audience fast.

SEO is the backbone of all the websites out there. It can be a trouble maker with its techniques, but at the end of the day, it does yield good results.

The above guidelines in the article are enough to give you an insight into what internal linking is all about.

Thank you for sharing so much of your time with us. Internal linking is very important and that you surely would have understood by now.

You better get on with working on your site now!

Backlink from Forbes

How to Get a Backlink from Forbes in 2019

Forbes has a Moz Domain Authority of 95.

It is NOT EASY to get a backlink from such a powerful site, but it is POSSIBLE.

New businesses face this problem, but we get high DA links for our clients every day.

So, I decided to share our experience to help you grow your business.

It requires extra hard work and time – you should know why getting a link or submitting a guest post on Forbes is worth every penny.

Why Are Backlinks Important?

Content has its value but I can count hundreds of sites with epic content but very few views.

High-quality content will help you maintain your rank.

But, it is rarely possible to rank with just high-quality content.

Brian Dean shares the same thought with me.

In addition to great content, you need high DA backlinks.

Backlinks are the most important factor to rank in Google.

When a website gives you a link, Google considers it a vote for your page.

It increases the authority of that page which further increases the authority of the entire site.

High authority websites rank easily because Google trusts them.

It is essential for every website to gain Google’s trust if it wishes to rank on its first page.

How One Backlink from Forbes Can Skyrocket Your DA

As I mentioned, it has a Moz DA of 95. But, do you know what a DA is?

Domain Authority (DA) is a 0 to 100 measurement of a website’s importance in Google.

Moz and Ahrefs are believed to provide the most accurate measurement.

A high DA shows that Google trusts this website. A backlink is considered a vote of trust.

So, getting a backlink from Google’s trusted site means you also get the trust of Google.

Forbes is an American business magazine that also has a website.

Forbes has one of the biggest websites in the world. Moz ranked it 65th most powerful domain in the world.

It has over 8 million backlinks, and they are increasing every day.

This proves that getting a backlink from Forbes can drastically enhance your domain authority and ranking.

Two Ways to Get a Backlink from Forbes

In case you are new in the field, you have to email the website and make a request.

The request could be to:

  • Add your link in one of their pages
  • Or, publish your post with link(s) in it

There are two strategies you can use to get a backlink from Forbes.

Find Broken Links

Broken link building is a great trick to get a backlink from Forbes.

In this tactic, you have to find the broken links in your target site.

A broken link is a link that points to a page that doesn’t exist.

You will find a few broken links in almost all websites. Powerful websites publish dozens of articles every day.

It is only natural if a link in an old post no longer exists.

You have to find these links and request its author to use your link in the anchor text instead of the broken one.

Broken links are a bad user experience.

All high websites provide great value to their users. That’s how they have earned and maintained their position at the top.

They wouldn’t want even a single broken link on their website. Besides, Google is also not a big fan of broken links.

They can either remove that link or replace it with another similar page that has good content.

If you are the one to identify the broken link, they are more likely to use your offered link as gratitude.

It is the most efficient strategy to get a backlink from Forbes; there is still no guarantee they will respond.

How to Find Broken Links?

The first step in broken link building for Forbes is to find them.

Simply go to Broken Link Checker and enter website URL. It will show you all the internal and external broken links.

This tool found me 331 broken and bad links. Most of the broken links were internal, but you can request to replace it as long as it’s broken.

For example, one of the external links included a page from YCharts.

It was linked by a 4-year-old article on Forbes.

You have to visit a broken link and see what it was about. You can go to Web Archive and enter the URL of the broken link to see its history and content.

Create Valuable Alternative Content

Make sure the topic you select is

  • Really broken,
  • Relevant to your niche,
  • And, replaceable.

You should be able to create just as good content for a replaceable page as it used to have.

If you already have a similar page, you don’t have to create a new one.

Most probably, you will have to write a high-quality article that Forbes will have no problem replacing.

Remember: you are not the only one looking for broken links – you have a competition to beat with the quality of your content.

A page with SEO content is more likely to be selected. Make sure you follow my On Page SEO checklist to create content that Forbes can’t reject.

Where to Contact Forbes for Broken Links?

You have to contact the contributor that wrote that article. You will find the author information at the top or bottom of the article.

The above mentioned Forbes page with broken link had this author bio as shown in the image.

Contributor Author Biography

You will find the author’s Facebook and Twitter account in addition to his email. You can contact the contributor and request him to replace the link.

Or, directly contact Forbes:

If you don’t get a response from the contributor, the second option is to contact the Forbes directly.

They have provided an email to report issues like broken links. Forbes staff usually replies within 5 days.

What If They Don’t Reply?

You found broken links, created similar page, and contacted Forbes.

If they don’t respond, all that effort could go to waste.

But, it won’t if you work smart.

You can find other websites that used the same broken link and email them to replace it with your valuable page.

Simply enter this broken link in Ahrefs and it will show you all pages pointing to it.

For example, I found 5 pages linking to mentioned broken link in addition to the Forbes.

Ahrefs Backlink Check Screenshot.jpeg

You just have to create one good email and contact all of them. At least one of them will agree if you provide valuable content.

I have shared many more similar tricks in my guide to get high PR backlinks that you should know.

Offer Guest Post

Guest posting is the most common practice to get backlinks.

  1. You contact the target website
  2. Pitch them a proposal
  3. Provide outline or demo content
  4. They publish your content with link(s) in it

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

Most probably, Forbes staff won’t even respond to your email.

Still, this is the way most people submit a guest post on Forbes.

It’s not that Forbes staff is lazy. They just receive too many emails and respond only to those that they find might be worth it.

Who Does Forbes Reply?

Your proposal must stand out from all other emails.

They want people to share their experience who are successful in their fields.

You need to ask yourself: what are you best at?

Something that you know a lot better than most people on planet. Forbes gets over 71 million unique monthly visitors from all around the world.

People will read your article on Forbes – including the tycoons of your field.

Here’s what you need to do before you reach out to Forbes.

  1. Decide your niche.
  2. Read articles of your niche on Forbes.
  3. See what makes these articles so great that Forbes published them.
  4. Select a topic and create its outline.

Once you have come up with an idea that is one masterpiece and provides value to the reader, email it to

If your post is selected, remember:

  • Forbes holds the right to modify your article.
  • They can delete your post whenever they want.

How to Pitch Forbes

Forbes has its own writers, and many influencers as contributors that write content for free.

That’s not all, Forbes staff receives hundreds of emails every day for guest posting.

Before you pitch Forbes, you need to ask yourself one question:

What can you offer that others can’t?

Once you have found your unique selling proposition, it’s time to create an email that enchants its readers.

Here are a few tips:

  1. Write a precise subject.
  2. Don’t beat about the bush – stay on the topic.
  3. Present your unique selling proposition.
  4. Prove how your post will provide value to the readers.

I know these are quite simple tips and most of which you already know.

But, that’s all there is. Rest depends on your topic outline and your research.

If you have researched your niche on Forbes, you would know what they are looking for.

Contact a Contributor

Forbes is said to have around 1,800 contributors. Many of the contributors are people of CEO level.

All these contributors provide unique and valuable content to Forbes free of cost.

Each contributor is an expert of his/her own niche and writes only on those topics. You need to make contact with a contributor that writes on the niche of your business.

There is an article on Forbes with a list of its contributors, their niche, and their contact information.

There is again a strong possibility that the contributors might not even reply to your email.

So, what can you do approach a Forbes contributor?

  • Follow them on social media (shared with the list of contributors).
  • Understand their behavior and needs.
  • Offer infographics and useful material to use in their articles.

When you are in a position to ask for favors, ask them to provide you a link in one of their articles or publish one of your posts.

Use a third person to approach contributor:

If all your efforts to impress a Forbes’ contributor has been in vain, you can approach someone that has links with one of them.

Every new business tries to get a backlink from Forbes. We have helped many of our clients get a backlink from Forbes.

Some digital marketing and outreach agencies have their own Forbes contributor or links with some of them.

Contacting them will save a lot of your time and efforts to submit a guest post on Forbes.

Become a Contributor

If possible, it’s the best approach. You can also become a Forbes contributor and publish your own guest post on Forbes.

Contributors are not paid but:

  1. It increases their authority in their respective fields.
  2. They get a huge increase in their sales.
  3. Drive a lot more traffic to their own websites.
  4. Get more social media following.

In 2019, it might be a little too close to impossible to become a Forbes contributor.

They already have too many contributors and way too many applicants. That’s why they are no longer accepting any new applications for the post of Forbes contributor. It shows the following message when you submit an application.

It’s difficult for a novice to submit a guest post on Forbes and get a response.

But, it is possible if you follow all the mentioned instructions, and stay determined. Here is a summary of discussed methods to get a backlink from Forbes:

  1. Find Forbes broken links and request to replace it with a link of your page.
  2. Create an amazing article that no one can reject and submit a guest post on Forbes.
  3. Contact a contributor and request him to give you a backlink or publish your post.
  4. Acquire services of a party that can get your post published on Forbes.

Nofollow and DoFollow

How to Get High DA DoFollow Backlinks in 2019?

Backlinks are still the most important part of Google ranking factors even in 2019.

No matter how good content or user-experience you provide, you just can’t rank until you get some high DA DoFollow backlinks.

That’s exactly what you will learn in this article.

Here you will find decisive practices to get high PR DoFollow backlinks.

Backlinks and Their Importance

A backlink is considered a vote in your favor.

More votes mean more people like and trust your page. So, Google will trust you too.

Google uses over 200 factors to determine the ranking of a page. Among these factors, 40 are directly associated with backlinks.

Factors that are most noteworthy and relevant to this topic include:

  1. Authority of Linking Page
  2. Authority of Linking Domain
  3. Linking Domain Relevancy
  4. Page-Level Relevancy
  5. Quality of Linking Content

A perfect backlink must comply with at least these 5 attributes.

According to Brian Dean, the authority of the linking page has always been a significant ranking factor.

Google has confirmed it too.

To get a backlink from high PR backlink sites, you must first understand what it is.

What is the PR of a Website?

PR means PageRank.

PageRank is an algorithm of Google that measures the authority or importance of a web page.

As some new professionals may confuse, it’s NOT the rank of a page on Google SERP.

It was named PageRank after its inventor, co-founder of Google, Larry Page.

This algorithm uses the number of backlinks to determine the rank of a page. But, it’s not the only algorithm at this job.

This algorithm scores the page on a scale from 0 to 10. But, it’s considered dead now.

That said, there are still other ways to determine the importance of a webpage.

For example, you don’t need a tool to understand that Wikipedia has a great domain authority. Moreover, almost every page of this website has a high page authority.

Same is the case with Forbes, NY Times, and Washington Post.

The point is: backlinks from a website that is considered powerful are the most beneficial.

How to Check PR of a website?

There isn’t one official tool to check the value of a website.

There are, however, many online tools that provide you their opinion.

Among these tools, some that are considered most close to perfection, include:

You need high DA DoFollow backlinks for better results.

The difference between Nofollow and DoFollow:

When a link is created, it’s either DoFollow or Nofollow.

If a link is set Nofollow, it means the owner of that page doesn’t want to share his juice with it. In other words, Google crawl doesn’t follow these links.

If a link is set DoFollow, it means the owner is sharing his juice with it. Google crawl follows this link to check its credibility and relevance to the page.

It will be considered a vote in favor of your content’s credibility if it gets a DoFollow link.

DoFollow Link Code

Let’ discuss how you can get high PR DoFollow backlinks.

Find Relevant Sites

You would know the most ranked and powerful websites of your niche. You should check the approximate authority of your relevant sites from the mentioned two tools.

Create a list of all websites and pages with high authority.

A backlink is useful as long as it comes from a relevant page.

A page, even high authority, won’t be much beneficial for you if it doesn’t have content related to your website.

For example, a link from a sports page is most beneficial for the page of the same niche.

The link will have even higher authority if it’s even more specific than just niche.

For example, a page with content about soccer links to another page on soccer – it is not just the same niche but also the same topic.

You need to find and make a list of two things:

  • High Authority Relevant Websites
  • High Authority Relevant Pages

A website can link you in many ways like guest posting.

But, you also need to make a list of relevant pages whose link can increase your value. If you have a page with content about soccer, look for high authority pages on soccer.

You will try to get a link for your soccer page from one of those pages.

SERP for Soccer with Moz Authorities

Above screenshot shows all ranked pages for keyword ‘soccer’ and MozBar is displaying the domain and page authority of each page.

You can select the most relevant pages with high page authority and save them in a list.

Domain authority shows value of the overall website. You should know all these websites to get backlinks from them.

Write a Great Email

Some links you get without asking because someone found your content very useful.

For that, they have to find you first.

If you are not on the first page of a search result, you are unlikely to be found. But, you get on the first page after you get backlinks.

To solve this deadlock, you have to first approach other bloggers and request them to give you a link.

This is why the first point emphasized on creating a list of all high authority websites and pages of your niche.

You reach out to other bloggers through emails. Bloggers and website owners do this all the time.

If you are a low PR site and want a high PR site to link you, it will be like asking a favor.

These powerful sites are considered influencers of their niche.

All high authority sites give DoFollow links to new or weak sites – mostly in return of a favor.

You have to reach and impress them before they select you. These sites get many similar emails on a regular basis.

They don’t even respond to most of them.

You need to create an email that stands out.

There are numerous templates you can follow in writing an outreach email. But, all must have these qualities.

  • Readable: Email should be written in an easy to understand language. Don’t be too formal.
  • Succinct: Make small and precise email.
  • Make them feel unique: Address them as a single person. Make them feel valuable.

Here’s is how a leading digital marketer, Neil Patel, writes his email.

Neil Patel Email Writing Style

See how friendly and straightforward email this is. Best of all, you feel special after reading it.

That’s what you need to do.

Write an attractive email with a good subject that can impress an influencer to give you a backlink.

Here’s a tip: offer them something in return to get better response.

Create Great Content

Even a new site with low PR won’t give you backlink if your content is low quality.

It is bad for a site to link to a page with bad or spammy content.

When you contact them, they always first verify if your content is good enough.

They only make a commitment after they have assured the quality and relevance of your content with their page.

High-quality content easily gets backlinks.

It will be considered a high-quality page if it is:

  • Lengthy: Comprehensive and covers a topic with minimum 1,500 words.
  • Unique: There is no other page with the same In short, no rewriting.
  • Your own research: Create content that shares the conclusion of your own study and experience.
  • User-Friendly: It must be easily readable with a good design and structure.

If you have rewritten someone else’s content, then there is no need for you. A high DA site can directly link to the original source instead of referring to its copy.

It is recommended to follow these expert 24 tactics to create full optimized content.

Guest Posting

You will either get a link from a resource page or you will provide them an article to post with your link in it.

The post you provide to publish on their blog is called Guest Post or Blog Post.

Guest or Blog posting is the most common practice for DoFollow backlinks submission. The authority of the link depends on the site where it is published, So:

  1. You need to utilize that list of niche relevant high PR backlink sites.
  2. Email every one of them and request for a backlink.
  3. Show them that you have an awesome relevant page.
  4. Provide them a sample of a guest

Just like the content on your website, the guest post must also be good quality and relevant.

Bloggers will reject your post if it is not valuable.

Broken Link Building

Broken link building is a time consuming but effective process.

Remember the list you need to create of high PR backlink sites – you will utilize it here again.

  • You have to find broken links in relevant pages.
  • See what the link was about.
  • Create a page with similar content.
  • Contact the blogger, identify the broken links, and request to replace it with yours.

Even this might not always work.

But, it is more likely to get a response compared to a guest post.

Broken links are not good for a site. It’s bad user experience.

If convinced properly, a blogger is sure to agree to replace the link with yours. That is if your content provides value. Otherwise, he would just remove it.

Josh from Ahref shared this great tip for building broken links.

If you don’t get a reply from the blogger, you can also contact other bloggers who have used that same broken link.

You can check a broken link in Ahref Site Explorer and it will show you all websites linking to it.

Contact all those bloggers. At least one of them will agree to use your useful link.

Participate in Roundup Posts

A roundup is a post with answers from various experts.

If you are an expert, you could also be a part of a roundup post of your niche.

This mostly works for bloggers who are already a big brand and own high PR backlink sites.

It could be especially beneficial for new sites if you get a part in round posts.

The world will see you listed among brands of your niche which helps in building your own brand.

Besides, you get high DA DoFollow backlinks from every roundup post.

You will, however, have to prove that you are an expert worthy of being a part of high PR roundup post.

Get Reviews on Your Product

You can get review websites to write a review of your product – if you are a product website.

Find relevant review websites and send them a sample of your product.

Same applies to services websites.

For example:

You can ask a fashion blogger to write a review of your product if you sell shoes or clothes.

There are many reviews writing high PR backlink sites. The review they write will be published on their site with at least one link pointing to your website.

This method is also beneficial for building brand presence.

Let me share an example…

CNET is one of the biggest review websites in the world. As per MozBar statistics, its DA score is 95.

Every single one of its page has a strong PR. The biggest of brands like Motorola and Samsung contact CNET to write a review of their product.

A link from this site would bring a lot of juice if your page is relevant.

This was a simple process to get high DA DoFollow backlinks in 2019. Here’s what you learned in this article:

  1. PageRank tool maybe dead, but it doesn’t change the authority of a website.
  2. You need DoFollow backlinks to get juice from a website.
  3. Find High PR backlink sites of your niche and create a list of most relevant pages
  4. Create a killer email and send it to all websites from the list.
  5. Make sure your content is backlink worthy.
  6. Approach other bloggers with a well-written guest post.
  7. Broken links can find you free backlinks site Create similar content and contact bloggers to replace it.
  8. Try to participate in roundup posts of authority sites.
  9. If you have a product website, contact review writer to publish a review of your product.

What is your favorite approach to get high DA DoFollow backlinks?

How to Use Anchor Text in Backlinks

How to Use Anchor Text in Backlinks? Complete guide.

Backlinking is the most important factor for ranking in Google.

Its importance has also made it just as difficult to achieve.

We create links pointing to our site because Google considers it a vote to the quality of our content.

From Google’s point of view, other people are referring to us because we have the most credible answer to a user search.

It wouldn’t be a vote if we were giving to ourselves.

That’s why Google will penalize our site if it finds out that we have been building backlinks ourselves.

It uses a number of tricks to check the credibility of backlinks.

One of the important tricks includes ‘The Use of Anchor Text in Backlinks’.

  • The right use of anchor text increases the authority of that backlink.

  • Wrong use of anchor text can get you a penalty from Google.

This case is particularly true for the exact match anchor text.

In this article, I’ll tell you:

  • All types of anchor text
  • How to use anchor text in backlinks to increase their authority

But first, let’s learn…

What is Anchor Text?

Anchor text is the text with a URL in it.

A URL points to the page of a website.

An anchor text is supposed to tell something related to the page of the link.

Here’s how it looks in HTML:

<a href=”//”> Here you write anchor text </a>

What is Exact Match Anchor Text?

In simple words, using a target keyword as anchor text is called ‘Exact Match Anchor Text’.

If I am trying to rank for a keyword ‘Pineapple Pen’, here’s a how exact match anchor text will look.

<a href=”//”> Pineapple Pen </a>

It gives the impression that used link is about ‘Pineapple Pen’. So, Google would consider that linked page a suitable candidate to rank for this keyword.

It used to be a good practice, but now it can hit you back with a Google penalty.

How Exact Match Anchor Text Can Cause a Penalty

Backlinks are the most important ranking factor.

Google used to consider exact match anchor relevant to the link.

The world started using spammy exact match anchor text in bulk.

This led to some embarrassing Google bombs. One of the most famous was the ranking of the keyword ‘miserable failure’.

In 2006, someone ranked the president page of George Bush from the website of White House for the keyword ‘miserable failure’.

That’s where the Godfather Google sent one of his gang members to work.

After its release in 2012, The Penguin update started targeting the spammy, artificial, and low-quality backlinks.

Since then, you have to be very careful when using exact match anchor text for backlinks.

Google has your link profile.

It can see the anchor texts pointing to your site.

If you have 200 backlinks and all of them with the exact match anchor text – it only takes common sense to understand that these links are not natural.

And, we are talking about the mighty Google here. We know what happens when Google find you are building artificial backlinks.

There are also some other factors you have to keep in mind when creating an anchor text – discussed in this article below.

Make sure you also follow these tips to build trust signals to avoid any penalty and rank better in Google.

Let’s Understand Types of Anchor Text

There is a number of ways you can use anchor text. Each type of anchor text has its own value in SEO.

1.      Exact Match Anchors

As we discussed, exact match anchor text is the target keyword of a page with its hyperlink in it.

Exact match is considered the most powerful and dangerous type of anchor text. While it shows the best relevancy, its overuse cautions Google.

Leading SEO analysts recommend using no more than 1% of backlinks with exact match anchors.

For example:

It’s an exact match anchor if target keyword of your page is ‘latest fashion’ and you link to it using only that keyword, i.e. ‘Latest Fashion’.

2.      Partial Match Anchors

Partial match anchor is like exact match but with additional words.

For example, for the same keyword ‘latest fashion’, depending on the topic, partial match anchor would look something like this.

  • Latest fashion trends of 2019
  • This guide on latest fashio

3.      Branded Anchors

Branded anchors is a great approach to build a brand name of your website or business.

Using your brand name as anchor text creates a branded anchor.

They are considered the safest anchor text if your domain name doesn’t involve the keyword.

For example, it’s a branded anchor for us if a link has anchor text similar to any of the following.

  • Globex Outreach
  • Visit the blog of GlobexOutReach
  • Globex Outreach Agency

It is recommended to create a brand name for your business.

That’s why leading SEO analysts recommend using branded anchors in up to 70% of your backlinks.

4.      Generic Anchors

Anchor text with random word(s) in it is called generic anchor text.

Quality of a generic anchor mostly depends on its preceding words – because they define what the link is about.

As long as you are not misleading the viewer, use of generic anchors is fine.

A safe and good practice is to use generic anchors in only up to 5% of backlinks.

5.      LSI Anchors

Latent Semantic Index is any word Google considers relevant to a keyword.

You can use them as your anchor text. These keywords define the purpose of your page in different words than keywords but Google understands them.

So, you should be careful with LSI anchors and shouldn’t use them in more than 5% of backlinks.

For example: if your target keyword is ‘latest fashion’, here’s what Google will show you at the end of its SERP.

Any of these LSI keywords and some more can become LSI anchor text.

6.      Naked Link Anchors

Naked link anchor is the URL of a site used as anchor text.

For example:

  • //
  • com

It is a common practice but not user-friendly; minimum use of naked link anchors is recommended.

7.      Image Anchors

Putting a link behind an image makes it an anchor text.

Google uses the Alt Text of the image as anchor text.

This doesn’t have any significant advantage or drawbacks to it, but it does diversify your links.

8.      No Anchor Text

You don’t have to worry about how long can anchor text be.

Not using any text at all is also another practice.

One easiest way to create a No Anchor Text is putting a link on an image without any Alt Text.

How to Use Anchor Text in Backlinks?

We have discussed all types of anchor texts; it wasn’t for no reason.

Each type has its own value and unique purpose.

Another important thing to consider is its USE.

Mix Them Up

You know Google has a link profile of your website.

It will make your profile look more natural if you use different types of anchor texts. Try to use all types of anchor text.

You should also keep in mind that overuse of some anchor texts can be harmful.

You can mix different types of anchor text to make a more relevant link.

For example:

You can use the brand name with the exact match in an anchor text.

This is a perfect combo of anchor texts as it not only creates a partial match anchor but also helps in building your brand.

But again, topmost priority is to create a natural looking link profile.

Another approach is to use an image anchor with the target keyword in its Alt Text.

Relevant to Topic

It is an already established fact that the platform linking to you should be of relevant niche.

In addition, anchor text should also be relevant to the content you are writing.

Don’t forcefully add them anywhere with the brand name or target keyword.

For example:

  • If you are using a generic anchor text, try to use the target keyword behind it.
  • With a brand name, make sure sentence comprehensively elaborates the link.

The guest post should be as specific to your keyword as possible.

For example:

If the target keyword is ‘dentist in California’:

  • One option is to write about dental issues.
  • A more suitable option would be to write on the topic ‘How to Find a Great Dentist in California’.

The second option is not only more relevant but also localizes the search. This also gets you a better conversion rate and more leads.

Strategize Your Work

Don’t randomly create backlinks.

Plan them, and follow them!

See how many backlinks you have got and the results you get from them. An important thing to notice here is the anchor text you used in each of the backlinks.

You can use anchor text according to the goals you plan to achieve.

For example:

One case could be if you want to create a brand name of your business.

Google likes brands.

When it sees people using your name in links, it gives the impression that your name increases the credibility of the link – that’s why people refer to you with your name.

To achieve this goal, you have to create more branded anchor text links.

Of course, you don’t have to use just one type of anchor text.

Mix them up!

It is important to use anchor text carefully.

Best way to do that is to plan how to use anchor text in backlinks.

For that, you have to know and understand all types of anchor texts.

After that, you have to consider their pros, cons, and limits – then you can avoid any Google penalty.

It will make your backlinks powerful if you use these anchor texts with the discussed tricks.

It is recommended to understand all goals you plan to achieve with backlinks and their anchor text – subsequently, create a plan and follow its results.

It is also suggested to read these safe and penalty-free link building strategies.

Trust Signals to Rank Higher in Google

How to Build Google Trust Signals to Rank Higher in Search Results?

Google wants to show the best search results to its users.

There is a lot of competition offering content on almost every searched keyword.

We have to make sure that Google trusts us.

If it doesn’t, our site will never be seeing the face of the search result’s first page.

How does Google assure the credibility of content?

  • Google checks the qualification of your content for the keywords.
  • Second, how trustworthy you are.

Google’s algorithms crawl every indexed page to determine the best results using over 200 factors.

Somewhere in these factors are adjusted ‘TrustRank’ factors to differentiate between useful webpages and spam.

What is TrustRank?

TrustRank is a link analysis technique to decide if a website is trustworthy or not.

Researchers of Stanford University and Yahoo developed it – Google acquired it later.

Google had to acquire it because it needed to make the PageRank perfect.

What is PageRank?

PageRank is an algorithm that uses the number and quality of backlinks to decide if Google can trust a page to rank it.

Google Webmasters’ official replied to a question, saying ‘Trust’ is just a catchphrase.

It can also be called Reputation, Trust, Authority.

PageRank is the most well-known type of trust.

The problem arose when humans came to know about this with the help of the PageRank score tool.

They started investing in backlinks instead of their content.

Google realized its mistake and introduced the TrustRank to evaluate the credibility of every site further.

Is There Any Google Trust Score Test?

Google doesn’t offer any official tool to measure the trust score of a website.

There are other tools available online to perform Google website trust check.

Most popular among them are:

  1. Majestic Trustflow
  2. MozTrust

Both of these tools predict the trust rank of your website based on the number and quality of sites that link to you.

What are Trust Signals?

When the world came to know how PageRank works and they can get Google trust score, they misused it.

TrustRank came to counteract the PageRank and this time Google didn’t make the same mistake of telling the world how it works.

We know it exists, we know it works; but no one knows how.

Where there is a problem, there is a solution!

You want Google to have faith in you, then build trust signals!

Trust signals can be called tactics to gain Google’s trust. We don’t know the exact factors, but there are obvious practices to build Google trust signals.

These trust signals are even confirmed by SEO gurus like Brian Dean and Nathan Gotch.

Be Open About Your Website

Google would be more open to the sites that it knows more about.

How would Google know about your business?

From your own site, of course.

Tell everything about your business there is to know.

You have to fill these page of your website comprehensively:

  1. About page
  2. Contact page
  3. Privacy Policy
  4. Terms of Services
  5. Affiliate Disclaimer Pages

Google’s algorithm may not understand what you have told about yourself, but it will definitely know that you are not hiding anything.

  • Your About page must tell, what your business is about and your objectives.
  • Mention your business address and contact number on the Contact It shows that you are not just passing time with your site. You are a proper business who provides complete services of its field.
  • Privacy Policy clarifies what you intend to do with the data of your visitors. Google will know that you are not doing anything behind your visitors back.
  • Terms of Services page shows that you are not randomly dealing with people. Every user who comes to your site will be aware if there are any conditions involved in your services.
  • Affiliate Disclosure page is there to inform your visitors that they are in a paid relationship with you.

Putting all this information on your site will make you more trustworthy to the user and Google.

Every good business has its own documentation to use when dealing with people. It tells that you are a proper business.

Optimize Your Domain

Those days are gone when you had to use a relevant keyword as your title and hide your information on whois.

Just so you know, Google is a domain registrar. It already knows who you are even if you have hidden your identity.

  • It is recommended to be open about the identity of your business and doesn’t hide it.
  • It will leave a very good impression if your business address on your contact page matches the exact same on whois info.
  • Another practice to optimize your domain is to register it for a longer period of time. If you register your domain for 3 months, it means you have doubts it will last longer that. Having it registered for a period of over 2 years shows that you are planning it on the long

Would Google like to rank a page that may no longer be available after 3 months if you decided it’s not working out for you?

On the other hand, a domain that is not anywhere for at least 2 years is a much more attractive candidate for a ranked position.

Remember, Google already has access to all this information and it will judge you based on these factors.

Link Out to Authority Sites

A good site links to other good sites. High-quality outbound links have a special value when determining the quality of your content.

You can visit the site of Neil Patel or Brian Dean; see you how many links they give.

None of their links are irrelevant or low quality.

You should link to high authority websites. It gives the impression that you are not afraid to share your traffic and that your information has sources.

It is also a very good practice to mention all the references and sources of information you used in your article.

You can take the example of Wikipedia.

  • There is no shortage of inbound links it uses.
  • It mentions every source at the end of the article.

Show Some Activity

An active business is more attractive than a desolate business.

Just building a website and posting occasional updates are not enough. Regular activity on your site is one of the best Google trust signals.

Two effective ways to show liveliness include:

  1. An Active Blog
  2. Active Social Media Accounts

Using an Active Blog

Every business should have an active blog on their site. It raises Google trust signals when you post an article regularly on your website.

  • This shows that you have plenty of information and experience in the genre of your site.
  • Google will acknowledge your efforts to provide quality services.
  • Moreover, a blog is a great way of increasing your site’s traffic.

Blog Comments

Engaging visitors in blog comments keep them happy and builds Google trust signals.

You should get your readers to comment on their views or queries and you should always give them a reply.

Here’s an image showing how Neil Patel, a world-class marketer, engages his visitors.

New visitors will also be motivated to comment when they see you answering them. There were 135 comments on the post from this image.

People love to comment there because they know admin will answer them and everyone will read it.

Active Social Media Accounts

Your website needs to have an account on every social media platform.

Every account will be linked to your website, so Google will know if you are running social media campaigns.

Keeping your audience engaged and driving them to your site shows your activeness and seriousness.

There are many more benefits to social media activities than just building Google trust signals.

It helps you become a brand. Below section explains the importance of becoming a brand to build Google trust signals.

Become a Brand

Everyone trusts a brand and every business wants to become a brand.

You are probably building your business or website so it becomes a brand automatically when it is big enough.

That’s one to go.

Or, you can show that you are already a brand and start acting like a brand.

Remember, everyone, trusts brands – including Google.

You will always see brands on the first page of Google search results even if their content isn’t that great (even if temporarily).

I searched for the term ‘billionaire’ and four top results show only Forbes and Wikipedia.

The top result, Forbes, wasn’t even as described in the meta description – Perks of being a brand!

Wikipedia is such a favorite brand of Google that you will always see it on the first page even if it doesn’t offer any quality content.

There are a few practices you can do to give out the impression that you are a brand.

Name Like a Brand

Using the keyword in your domain is no longer an effective SEO practice thanks to The EMD Update. Now, you can be creative and use any name you like for your website.

None of the brand names is cliché – That’s an approach you need to follow.

Use a name for your domain that sounds like a brand, catchy, and attractive.

How would you like it if Twitter was named ‘Social Networking Microblogging Service’.

A good brand name will attract costumers/consumers/visitors and help you become a brand you long for.

Thorough About Us Page

Having a small about us page gives out the impression that you haven’t done anything noteworthy. There is nothing to tell about you or your business.

You first have to believe that you are a brand to make others believe it.

You need to write a kickass about us page like you are a big deal. Let the world know you are awesome, your services/products are awesome, and they are awesome.

Mention every tiny bit of detail there is to know. It will also build strong Google trust signals. Here is an article by Neil Patel on creating a perfect About Us page.

Searches of Your Name

People search on Google using brand names. YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter are the biggest examples.

Google will know that you have become a brand when people will start searching for you.

And that’s the biggest achievement for Google trust signals.

How do you do it, depends on your marketing strategy!

Brand Name Anchor Text

Try to use your brand name in the backlinks you get. It gives the impression that your name matters.

For example, one is an article on backlinks and other is an article on backlinks by Brian Dean.

Even if the first one has better content, people will go for the article by Brian because he is a brand and Google knows it too. Every single of his articles is ranked on the first page.

We want Google to know your brand name is just like Brian’s name on SEO.

Social Media Following

Brands have a huge social media following. A great proportion of their traffic comes from social media platforms.

  • Social media spreads the awareness that you are brand.
  • People even judge a brand’s size from its social media following.

Get Backlinks from Seed Sites

Let me put this way.

A friend of Google’s friend is a friend of Google too.

Look for Google’s friends – high authority and trusted sites. Get backlinks from these websites.

It builds strong Google trust signals when a trusted site uses your reference.

Such trusted sites are called ‘Seed Sites’ that Google believes will never engage in black hat SEO.

There is no public list of all these sites, but some obvious seed sites include Wikipedia and

You should find the seed sites of your domain and try to get backlinks from them.

If you get a link from a site that was linked by a seed site, it is still a good source of Google trust signals.

News Site Backlinks

News sites are supposed to provide fresh and authentic content. This case is particularly true for mainstream news websites like CNN.

Getting backlinks from a high authority news site is a sure way of building Google trust signals.

  • One way is to do something so huge that such news sites will contact you.
  • The other way is getting backlinks through a guest post or press release.

Gain Trust of Users

Google is doing it all for users.

If a user trusts you, there are no Google trust signals that can beat it.

Google uses numerous factors to understand how users interact with your site.

For example, a high bounce rate means your site doesn’t offer value to the user.

You should try to get as many social shares as possible. Google will know that your content is valuable so people are sharing it.

User’s trust is most important if you ask how to increase trust in E-commerce websites.

People read blogs just for information. There is money involved in E-commerce.

You have to convince your visitor that you are trustworthy and won’t scam them.

You can write good content and offer good services but there will still be a small stain of doubt left in the customer’s mind.

There is only one thing that can clear that doubt. It’s called User Reviews.

Positive User Feedback

You can tell good things about your services and product all you want but it won’t be as effective because you are the seller.

Customer believes other customers.

If a customer tells good things about your business, that’s what makes a big difference.

People read customer reviews before buying anything, and they believe in them.

Moreover, Google understands ratings and user interaction. Positive customer reviews will build strong Google trust signals.

How do you plan to build Google trust signals for your site? Let me know in comments.

Complete On Page SEO Checklist to Rank Higher in 2019 [24 Tactics]

We know the two categories of SEO.

  • On-page SEO
  • Off-Page SEO

Off page is basically link building. We use it to increase the authority of a page.

The real SEO, however, is done On Page.

We even perform Off-Page SEO to promote our on-page work.

On-Page SEO allows us to create content that Google will love.

If Google loves the content, it will rank it higher in SERP.

To help you understand better here’s On-Page SEO definition for you

On-Page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual page of a website according to the requirements of search engines so it will rank higher and get more traffic.

In this article, you will learn how to do On-Page SEO. These practices fulfill every On-Page requirement that you need to rank top in 2019.

On-Page SEO Techniques for 2019

There were simpler times when you only needed to know the keywords for On-Page SEO.

Bloggers would just use just an appropriate amount of keyword density, and that was all to it.

Now, it’s 2019!

The world has evolved, and Google is always one step ahead.

Hummingbird search algorithm has been there for years. Later, it added a team member named RankBrain that was announced on October 26, 2015.

RankBrain is an algorithm that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to crawl all indexed pages and determine the best results for every keyword.

Just keywords and backlinks can’t fool this system.

Google now understands your content and also monitors how a user interacts with it.

So, you don’t have to create content just for a computer program. That program now also uses human behavior for better understanding.

Here I have shared a complete SEO checklist 2019 to satisfy all ranking factors and get a higher ranking.

1. Write Long Content

Google wants well-searched in-depth content.

Why in-depth content?

Because it will have an answer to every question of the visitor on that topic.

You can’t cover all such queries in just 500 words.

To follow the On-Page SEO checklist, you need to write long and original content.

Google requires you to write a minimum of 300 words.

According to Brian Dean’s research, the top 10 Google results had an average count of 1,890 words.

2. Write for Humans

Don’t think you are creating content for Google’s algorithms.

Keep the user’s intent in mind.

  • Why would a user search this keyword?
  • What does he want to know?
  • How would he like it?

User experience is an important SEO factor. If a user likes your content, Google will like it without saying.

3. Watch Out for Bounce Rate

Bounce rate calculates how early a visitor leaves your website. It is also said to be one of the ranking factors used by Google.

To complete your On-Page SEO checklist 2019, you must figure out a way to make sure the visitor doesn’t leave the site too early.

There is not one tactic to it.

  • You just have to tell the visitor what he wants to know at the beginning of the article.
  • Avoid the points in the beginning that visitor may disagree to and leave.

When a person visits your page, he wants to know if he will find his desired answer on this page or not.

Mentioning that it is the right place for him will assure his stay.

You should only make an arguable statement in the beginning if it was already mentioned in the title and the visitor expects it.

4. Increase Dwell Time

Dwell time is the stay time of a visitor on your page.

It is also considered one of the ranking factors of Google search algorithm.

There is also no On-Page SEO tactic for this ranking factor.

You just have to create content that visitor likes. You should know better who you are writing for and what he/she expects from your page.

  • You should write content in a proper structure that is easy and attractive for a reader to understand.
  • Use of carewords in the article is a good idea to gain the reader’s It also assures him that the article is relevant to his query even if he just scans it.

5. Increase Organic CTR

You can control the Click-Through Rate of your page with the On-Page SEO checklist.

The answer is simple, write an attractive title and meta description.

A searcher determines from your title and meta description whether he will visit your site or not.

Search results with higher organic CTR are more likely to rank high. That said, don’t mislead a searcher to click or you will significantly increase your bounce rate.

6. Select Only Relevant Keywords

Keyword research is an underestimated part of SEO. We should carefully select the keywords we want to rank for.

Selection of only relevant keyword should be your priority in this On-Page SEO Checklist.

It results in increased bounce rate, less organic CTR, and decreased stay time if not chosen smartly – all said to be Google ranking factors.

Select only the keywords that have been properly answered in your article.

Just because two queries have similar words, doesn’t make them the same question.

7. Keywords within Content

It is not as effective as it used to be but, even today, all leading bloggers use an appropriate amount of keywords within their article.

They are, however, not used randomly – but with a strategy.

You should use the keywords in the article that you are targeting – but don’t overuse it.

Don’t let the keyword density exceed 3% – even 0.5% is more than enough to convey your signal.

8. Including LSI Keywords

Latent Semantic Indexing keywords are like synonyms of the actual keywords that you are targeting.

Google looks for LSI keywords in content to understand its relevancy with the keywords.

  • LSI keywords should not be used in small articles.
  • You should only use them if they naturally fit.

9. Use Keyword in First 100 Words

Yoast SEO Analysis Tool and leading SEO like Brian Dean also recommend using this On-Page SEO checklist practice.

Using a keyword within the first 100 words assures both the Google and user that your article is about the targeted keyword.

10. Add Keyword in SEO Title

You should always use your keyword in the SEO title.

There is only one exception.

It doesn’t fit naturally!

User experience is still the top priority even though Google looks for the keyword in the title.

11. Use Keyword in Meta Description

Meta description appears right below the SEO title in Google search results.

Google search algorithm looks for keywords you have used in meta description as a relevancy signal.

There is no need to use the keyword if you can’t find any possible way to make it look natural.

When a searcher finds your title useful then he moves to meta description before clicking your page.

You can say it is the second most important factor to increase organic CTR.

Using a keyword in the meta description is friendly for the user and the search engines.

12. Use Keyword in Headings

It is one of the oldest practices but it is still useful enough to be a part of On-Page SEO checklist 2019.

You should try to naturally fit the keyword in at least one of the headings in your article.

13. Use One H1 Tag

H1 tag is a title tag that appears on top of your article.

It is similar but not the same as SEO title that appears in the search engine results.

You should always use only ONE H1 tag in your article.

Your title will automatically be wrapped in H1 tag if are using WordPress.

14. Organize Headings

There is a simple structure of using headings that you need to follow in On-Page SEO checklist.

  • There should be only one H1 tag.
  • H2 tag should only be used under the H1
  • H3 tag should only be used as a subheading of H2.
  • H4 tag should only be used as a subheading of H3.

15. Relevant Internal Links

Using internal links increases the stay time of a visitor on your site and increases your traffic. Google uses internal links to determine the quality and rank of your content.

A good practice in On-Page SEO checklist is to use only relevant keywords.

Excessive use of irrelevant keywords can instead degrade the quality of your content.

16. Internal Links with Anchor Tag

Use of anchor tag is one of the latest yet useful On-Page SEO techniques 2019.

Using an anchor tag in the link makes it easy for the search algorithm to relate it with the source.

For example:

Don’t add a link in text like ‘click here’. Instead, specify the link purpose or subject in the anchor tag.

17. Outbound Links with High DA

You should give out links to other sites. It makes your content look good.

It gives the impression that you have sources of shared information.

That being said, giving out too many links or referring to spammy websites can harm the rank of your page.

An On-Page SEO checklist practice here is to give out links to only high authority and relevant sites.

18. Include Relevant Images

According to an analysis of Brian Dean, articles with at least one image tend to rank higher.

You should always use images that are relevant to the topic and attractive to the user.

For example, the use of infographics and charts would be a good practice.

19. Optimize Image Weight

None of the images, GIFs, or any other multimedia used in the article should be heavy to load.

Google uses page speed as a ranking factor, and an article heavy to load will not make a good impression.

Images with big size take too much time to load and present a bad user-interface for the visitor.

20. Add Alt Text in Images

Every image you use in your content should have Alt Text.

Alt text or alternate text appears when your image fails to load. Google looks for Alt Text in images when determining the rank of a page.

21. Use Keyword in At Least 1 Alt Text

Try to use the target keyword in Alt Text in at least one of the images.

This member of the On-Page SEO checklist is also a relevance signal of your content to the keyword.

You can use it in all images too if they fit naturally.

22. Use Keyword in At Least 1 Image Title

It is also a professional practice to use the naming convention.

Properly rename and give a title to every single one of your images.

An Image name here is the name of the image before you upload it. You add the image title after it is uploaded.

Use the keyword in the title of at least one image to tick one of the items in the On-Page SEO checklist.

23. Add Image Description

This may not be as important as others, but it is a good practice to write the description of an image and then uploading it on the server.

Google reads the image description – it will get the impression that you have comprehensively explained every part of the article.

While you are at it, make sure the image and its description are relevant to the subject.

24. Start Comments on Blog

According to SE Round Table, Google algorithm checks for the activity that takes place on your blog.

And yes, it helps with the ranking.

Didn’t you ever notice how every leading blogger encourages visitors to comment on their blog?

There has to be a reason for it.

One thing we know for sure is that excessive spam in your blog comment section can harm the position of your site – so, keep it under watch.

On Page SEO Checklist Bonus Tip

You must have noticed how every YouTuber asks you to subscribe and share their video.

It encourages the viewers to share it if they liked the content.

Why can’t you do the same with your written content?

Add share buttons on every page of your website and encourage your visitors to share your content – it’s a big source of traffic.

These On-Page SEO techniques of 2019 cover every practice you need to know. Make sure you don’t overdo any of them – or, it would do more harm than good.

Penalty Free Links Building Strategies – 100% Safe

In the past, link building was based on quantity, not quality.

However, tables have been turned over this concept in the past few years.

Link building has become a different ball game.

If you’re working on link building strategies for your business, you have to understand that you can’t create incoming links instantly. Slow and steady wins the race.

The pages where you build links – specifically the authority and quality of those pages – make all the difference in determining how high you’ll rank in search engine results.

Here are a few links building strategies that wont get you penalized.

Broken Link Building

Most websites are link intensive, I am talking hundreds, sometimes thousands. Some link externally, some externally. Sometimes, these links can stop working, yet still show up on the website. Most website owners fail to realize when it happens, wreaking havoc on their SEO, reputation, and experience. In fact, before you read further, why don’t you pop on to Ahrefs, and check if you have any broken links, perhaps some from an old a/b testing experiment where you failed to redirect the test page?

Discovering broken links gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to nurture lasting relationships with website owners, get high-quality links, and add value to their website. Which is why, I love this form of link building. Not to forget, Nikolay Stoyanov used to leverage Broken link building to acquire 15 links a day with a whopping conversion rate of 15%. I would venture as far as to say that it is one of the most underrated link building strategies of all times, one that should merit more recognition. Let me delineate the straight-forward process of finding and fixing broken links.

Define a Target Website

Start by singling out a prospective website that you want to get a link from. While you can get as fancy as you want, say The New York times or Inc, it is prudent to stay realistic about your expectations. Your chances of getting a link is fattest from small companies and personal blogs. Managers and owners of those will likely thank you for your troubles by gifting you with a quality link.

Finding the Broken Links

Once you have chosen your battlefields (websites you want to get a link from), it is time to arm yourself with the right tools and start searching for the broken links. Ahrefs and Check My Links are two of my personal favorites. While most of you must be acquainted with Ahrefs, Check My Links is also an invaluable Chrome Extension that allows you to look for defected links within a specified page. This tool works best when you have a page with a lot of links, such as a resource page or an article listing recommendations. For instance, say that you sold cooking tools. Kitchenstewardship features all the tools that they recommend. Now if you were to check for broken links within, you would click on Check My Links extension and let it scrutinize the entire page!

Well luckily for them, and unfortunately for you, he tool did not unearth any broken links. With every website you visit, despite your intent, it is a great habit to become aware of the available opportunities. Every time you find a broken link, you can add it to your list of broken links from various pages. IT will come in handy someday.  Ahrefs on the other hand, can save you time if you wish to look for broken links within a site, no matter the location of the link. Ahrefs will crawl through your website and enlist all the broken links it has festering.

For this, you need to pop open Ahrefs’ Site Explorer and add the website that you wish to analyze in the main search bar, the one in the center of the page. Then go to backlinks > broken and see all the broken inbound links the website you are analyzing got.

Any broken links that you come across present a huge window of opportunity for you to pitch to the site that linked to a broken link, to get a link from them in turn.

Once you have a viable list, export it and save to a separate Excel sheet.

Once this step has been done and dusted with, navigate to the left-side menu and click on Outgoing links > Broken links. This churns out all the defected outbound links from the site under scrutiny. Let the website owners know about this list of links. Also let them know if the page they linked to still exists.

Here is where you can play your card.

To replace a broken link, recommend a similar page on your site that can fill its shoes. Now export this list as well like the last time and get right into finding all the internal broken links. For this, click on “pages” in the search bar menu and choose Best by Links. Once you have reached there, choose the third button from the left and navigate to “404 not found”.

This will give you the list of all the internal broken links, organized by their URL rating. This narrows down to the fact that the higher a page ranks on the page, the more link authority is associated with it. In a nut shell, enjoy an important link boost of a top page (one that seems way out of your league) gives you a link.

Export this list of links as well and repeat this process for every website that is on your list.

Contacting the Blog Manager

After you have analyzed all the pages and sites, it is high time to let the blog manager or owner know about the broken link. Instead of simply sending them a message you should try to cultivate a relationship with them and build trust. If some page of your website is relevant to the one where the broken link was found, better let them in on it. Don’t make it obvious that you are going to all the painstaking efforts just to get a link. Do it to help them have a great page for their readers. Even if your website doesn’t have anything relevant to offer, you can still focus on fixing the broken link at hand at the moment and perhaps avail some other opportunity to ask them for a link.

Testimonial Link Building

Testimonial Link Building

Doesn’t this link building method seem too easy? Well… that’s probably because it is! In just a few minutes, you can create potent homepage links to your website. If you are using some products and services, you can reach out and offer positive testimonials for them and have them published with a link back to your website. This is how it works.

List down your Targets

Step 1. List down your Targets

First things first; you need to find the websites for products and services that you want to write testimonials for. Make sure that each site offers products or services that you use, has existing testimonials, and is relevant to your niche.  So, a great place to start is to pen down all the services, products, tools that your business is using. This could be something along the lines of:

  • Any services/tools that you use
  • Some training course that you took
  • Your action camera
  • Some horse saddle you found handy

Well, if you are finding it a tough nut to crack to come up with ideas, why not look up what services and tools others in your industry are employing. Your search would spawn something like this:

screen shot1

Even better, you can avail a free trial associated with the tool to test the waters a bit. Or perhaps you could search for relevant people in your industry who have recently launched services/tools/products that could be of some use to you. If they are about to launch, your testimonials could really give them wings and the gesture would be reciprocated in kind. These people usually hang out on sites like BetaList, HackersNews, and ProductHunt, Facebook Groups, or niche related forums. Use a spreadsheet to collect all your targets.

Find the Right Person To Pitch

Step 2.  Find the Right Person To Pitch

The next step is to find the right person to pitch to. While some websites have dedicated testimonial submission forms, you can also use the contact form on the website, and someone will get in touch. However, if we are talking bulk testimonials, perhaps a tool like NinjaOutreach can be of more use to you. Simply take out a website from the excel sheet and the tool will dig up the contact details. Easy breezy.

Or perhaps, a handy extension such as Hunter or Find That Lead can help you unearth email addresses. Not only content with email addresses, these tools will also pull out the role of the person behind the emails, so that you will in a better position to decide if you are pitching to the right person. Add all email addresses to your spreadsheet and start contacting everyone on your list with a compelling pitch.

Step 3. Send Your Testimonial Pitch

Find the Right Person To Pitch

Before you start crafting a testimonial, why not sell them on the idea that they would benefit from your testimonial?

When putting together your pitch, remember to introduce yourself, mention their products or services which you have used and explain how they addressed your pain point, and how they helped you overcome a dilemma including specific results. Ask for their permission to write a testimonial for them. Keep the pitch simple, polite, and to the point.

To get them to listen, you could perhaps mention a competitor brand and how their services weren’t meeting your needs, but how they came to the rescue and helped you transform processes. Tell them how you really want to write a testimonial praising their services, and if they would be interested in that.

Penning down The Perfect Testimonial

Step 4. Penning down The Perfect Testimonial

Crafting a perfect testimonial is the easiest part; no frills attached. Ideally, you want a short piece of text incorporating:

  • What you liked the most about their services?
  • How particular service/product helped you?
  • Result achieved (in numbers to be exact)
  • Your personal recommendation to others.

In a nutshell, craft such a compelling testimonial that they would be foolish not to publish. However, make sure that you are not falsely endorsing a less than stellar service/product, especially when you are attaching your name to the recommendation.

Blog commenting

Blog commenting

In the cut-throat battle for backlinks, blog commenting has proven to be a reliable brother-in-arms for years on end. In adition to improving your company’s visibiltiy and raising authority, it also acts as a traffic and links magnet.

When done the right way, blog commenting can do wonders for your blog. To begin, you need to look for highly relevant websites which have enabled commenting. Now, you must be fretting over all the painstaking efforts you will have to go through to look for those websites, but you can simply use LinkAssistant to replace them. This is how it’s done:

  • Fire up the app and create a new project for your site.
  • Choose “Look for prospects” and specify “Commenting” as the preferred research method.
  • Decide on your keywords from any of these two options: You can choose “related topics” and “category” types of keywords when searching for thematically relevant websites. On the other hand, when you are searching up exact match blog posts or articles, the topic of the article would determine your keyword choice. Enable expert options if you are going for this option.
  • Next up, you need to assign tags and status to help you facilitate prospect management workflow. Sort your partners by tags or by groups in accordance with their status. Hitting “get exact URLs” helps the tool dig up URLs of individual pages and filter out domain URLs. Since you won’t need to contact webmasters via email, you can make the who search process faster by unchecking Automatically acquire title and description.
  • Now it’s time to configure additional information and choose which information you would like to acquire for your link prospects. You can gauge the relevance of your prospects with this extra information. Once you procure a link of blog commenting opportunities, you can start commenting.

Resource Page Link Building

Resource Page Link Building

Most website have a resource page listing all the different articles, guides, or tools that they have found useful or of use. These pages boil down to a list of links with some descriptions. It’s a pretty straight-forward concept: Look out for the resource pages relevant to your business and ask them to provide you with a link.

How To Find Resource Pages?

There’s no single way to do this. However, if it is your first time doing this, here are a few ways you can try:

  • Google Search

Search up terms such as Keyword +useful links, Keyword +inurl:useful links, Keyword +helpful resources, Keyword +useful resources, or Keyword +inurl:links. For instance, a search to build links to a meditation blog would appear something like:

Feel free to peruse through the results and have your pick. Better yet, add all pertinent links to a spreadsheet for the next step. On the other hand, if you want to take an easy route, here’s another option:

  • Ninja Outreach

NinjaOutreach is another wonderful way to look for resource pages in your niche. Fire up the tool and type in your keyword in the search bar. The results can be filtered by “Resource Page”. The tool will instantly give out the list of relevant resource pages. In a matter of few steps, you can find their contact details and pitch to them.

Pitching Your Content

If you want your content to be added to the resource page, once you have gotten through the initial steps, it is time to reach out to the website and pitch them your content. The right strategy is to send the first outreach email and then pivot to the link placement. In the outreach email, you can thank them for their delightfully resourceful listicle, and once they reply back, ask for a link placement.

Expired Domains

Expired Domains

Using expired domains has been one of my favorite ways of link building. This is because you are likely to come across expired domains which are highly relevant to your niche, have high levels of authority, promise great backlink profiles or have valuable backlinks from high DA websites. This is why you should be harnessing their prowess for link building. And depending on how smartly you play your cards, you can get a super wonderful deal and buy an expired domain at the price of a new domain. When you buy an expired domain, you can:

  • Redirect the expired domain to direct links to your site
  • Capitalize on expired domains to link to your site
  • Launch a new site on the expired domain and get high authority

This is why expired domains are so famous. When you build a site in a relevant expired domain having a high DA, you will get a head-start with an amazing link profile. Not only that, you will be in full control of anchor text, link placement, relevance, and content.

If you are smart about it, you have your very own army of dedicated high DA websites, all laser focused on linking back to you. But here’s the catch: The success of this strategy lies in your ability to discover high DA expiring domains in the first place, which are relevant to your niche! Once you have hit upon the gold mine, there are a million ways, you can harness them to your advantage!

Finding expired domains doesn’t have to be a tough nut to crack, depending on how you go about it. Perhaps, you can use a tool like DomainHunterGatherer to find expired domains and gather key metrics. Once you have found an expired domain, you can build a high authority site on It or build powerful backlinks.

Replicate Best Links From Competitors

Replicate Best Links From Competitors

Regardless of where your competitors earned their links, you task is to replicate their link building strategy. During the process, be wary of links that would land you in hot waters. For instance, instead of paid links, you might want to go for those that come from social engagement and high-value content. Since 76% of marketers capitalize on social media to boost and support SEO, you have to embrace social media as well if you wish to connect with influential marketing experts and blogs.

Coming back to replicating the success of competitors in your own link building strategy. The best part is that thanks to the advent of a large number of resources and tools available, your competitors cannot hide their best links from you. Once you find these links, time to harness their power. So how do you know which are their best links? Well perhaps the strongest metrics for judging the viability of a link are the page authority and domain authority of a link website.

For instance, if you want to get your resource mentioned on a famous site such as smashing magazine, here is how you would go about it:

  • Create a high-quality and relevant resource page: Before you email the editor, you can boost your chances of getting a yes by making sure that your content is relevant to the topic, be it an article, a podcast, an infographic, or a video.
  • Contact the editor: Most high authority sites operate their blogs through a team of editors. Contact the editor to make sure that your resource content can be published. You can build a better relationship with the editors via email outreach.

In my years in the industry, I have learnt one thing; if your content is helpful and unique, most influential site owners, blogs and editors would love to publish it and give you a link. So, in a nutshell, focus on penning down stellar content! Afterall, content is the key.

content marketing

17 killer content marketing hacks to Skyrocket website traffic

If lead generation is the engine behind your business, think of content marketing as the fuel that powers that engine. Content marketing has opened myriad doors to implementing lead generation strategies, converting leads into happy, returning customers. While content marketing has often been linked to lead generation, most people are still oblivious to clever and simply genius hacks that will generate leads in mind-boggling numbers. Hotmail was one pf the first to contrive a growth hack in the early 90’s. In order to boost growth, their team decided to spread love by adding “PS I love you” at the bottom of every email. Since the text was linking back to their homepage, this seemingly innocuous nugget of content alone brought in over 12 million email accounts! You may be no Hotmail, but here are 17 downright genius traffic boosting growth hacks that can skyrocket your search traffic and act as a client magnet for your online business:

Capitalize on Emotions in Headlines

To reel in your readers, you need to create magnetic headlines to get them hooked to your content. The secret is to tap in their emotions to supercharge your content. Not only will people be willing to peruse through a content piece that “gets them” and resonates with them, they will be tempted to share it on social media as well. For instance, if you put yourself in the shoes of your customers, what would you search for on Google if you are looking for ways to shed a few pounds? Perhaps something like:

  • “Drop 10 pounds in a month”
  • “Fastest way to get rid of belly fat”
  • “Lose 20 pounds fast”

Not to overwhelm you, but there could be countless variations to just the search terms above. So as an individual desperate to trim the potbelly and get your life back on track, you will be quick to respond positively to an article targeting any of these keywords. This is because they mirror what is in your heart. If your headlines target the keywords they are looking for, you can be sure that those keywords will eventually convert into clicks, visits and sales when you rank on google. So, lets assume you are looking to create powerful headlines for a content piece that targets revenue generation, here are some of the emotional keywords you can target:

  • “How to increase sales”
  • “How to generate revenue”
  • “how to generate revenue from website”
  • “Revenue Generating ideas”

These are called emotional keywords since people searching for them are already looking for ways to increase revenue. They don’t want to be sold on the idea of revenue generation, they just want a nudge to act. In addition, when crafting high-converting deadlines, it would do you good to increase, especially odd numbers. Buzzsumo found these headliners openers most effective:

Create A Content Calendar

Strategic success drives in great parts from creating a content calendar. It is a shareable resource that brings everyone on your content team on the same page and can be used for content marketing planning. Here is a great explanation of content calendar by convinceandconvert:

It is prudent to get one planned out at the beginning of the year, to provide a visual display of what, how, and where your content will be published. This will support your marketing goals by helping you guarantee a consistent flow of content.

Create Proper Strategies for When and What to Share

It is possible to identify the best times to share on social media. Depending on the lifestyles and businesses of your followers, some time slots may prove to be best for better interaction, so it is better to take a sneak-peak inside the lives of your followers. According to the research, the following are the times and days that work best:

  • The best time to achieve maximum involvement after a workday is 7 PM.
  • If the goal is to garner more comments on your posts, the best time to share things is on Saturdays.
  • The best time to post a featured story is between 11 AM and 4 PM.
  • The best time to share anything is 1 PM.

  • The best days to get the most numbers of clicks and involvement are Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
  • The best time for getting a high CTR is between 12 PM-6 PM during word days.
  • The best time to receive more retweets is 5 PM.

  • Posts achieve the highest engagement at 9 AM on Wednesday
  • For weekdays, it is best to post between 9 AM and 11 AM.

Not only should you promote your posts on the above-mentioned schedules, you can also add social shares on older pieces of content to boost traffic to your website.

Segment Your Audience

One of my favorite frugal blogs, Miss Thrifty is targeting young mums with treasure trove of wisdom on living a frugal life and rightly so! The blog is targeting a huge market by fulfilling their need for this type of information. Young mums are often pressed for money and may have to give up working to care for their little ones. With just one wage flowing in the house, the need to be more frugal with everyday living is a must.

This blog embodies the concept of catering to a “segmented audience”; in this case: young UK mums!

It often helps to learn about your potential and current audience to determine the type of content you should produce. Audience segmentation is the perfect way to get to grips with myriad characteristics and customer personas, who they are, how to reach out to them, and how they are different. Once you have segmented your current audience, it will also help you discover and connect with new target audiences.

target audience

A great place to start is to analyze demographics. Group your audience members by family size, income, geographical location, gender, age, race, and other factors. For this, you will need to dive into data and insights that indicate preferences and behaviors. You can create data-driven personas with the help of these indicators, which will help you create more relevant content to your audience.

Create Evergreen Content

Segmenting your audience will better equip you to craft tailored content that resonates with each segment group as effectively as possible. Try perusing through pertinent social media groups, forums, industry and competitor blogs to see what potential customers are looking for and what type of content they are talking about, sharing with others, and spending most time with.

This is where audience segmentation comes into play. For instance, if you want to channel more new users on your website, your content should be focused on establishing your brand as a trustworthy industry expert (think e-books, whitepapers, and how-to-guides), and building brand awareness. For current customers, your focus should be to expand their affinity and relationships with the brand, perhaps through comprehensive guides, specialized discounts, or webinars. Furthermore, you can create separate landing pages for each of your targeted segmented audience, replete with relevant content.

Diversify Your Reach

In my experience, the way forward is to follow a diversified approach to content distribution. Content Marketing Institute has reported that B2B marketers use on an average 13 different content marketing tactics. You are severely stifling the potential impact of your content in this digital era if you are only creating one kind of content, such as a blog or podcast, and promoting it through only a single channel.

Leveraging the right channel will direct qualified leads towards your diversified content. While YouTube is popular video-driven content, such as inspirational stories, reviews, and tutorials, while Facebook is well-known social media channel. For B2B interactions, Twitter and LinkedIn are more appropriate, while Snapchat and Instagram are better for reaching millennials.  Finding a social media platform that is a great fit for your particular needs will aid you in garnering more traffic with your content.

Get to Grips with LinkedIn Pulse

If you want to share your content with people in your industry, LinkedIn Pulse is your go-to tool. As soon as your content is published, you open up doors for a wider target audience to enter. With LinkedIn Pulse at your disposal, you can customize the reading experience for every-day personalized content. Not only do the published posts serve to boost brand awareness, they also reel in your users. The secret of the trade is to keep your articles short for LinkedIn Pulse, since they get the job done better than long posts.

However, care must be exercised when crafting a snippet of the original article for linking to the site, since it can create a duplicate-content issue if the content is not properly rewritten. Your connected people and LinkedIn followers receive notifications about your post as soon as it is published. If they find the snippet to be captivating, they are more likely to click on it to read more. This is how they eventually end up on your blog!

group discussion

Start a Group Discussion

Both LinkedIn and Facebook groups are great places to fuel a discussion or interact with people by sharing, liking, or commenting on their work. With such a vast number of groups available on LinkedIn and Facebook, you will inevitably find a question relevant to your niche and target audience. If your end goal is to increase engagement, the secret is in the way you share your views or how you make yourself heard. With so many active participants, it won’t be hard for you to reach your target audience. Not only can you encourage your audience and industry relevant influencers to share your content, you can also create  engagement with them. If your updates are riveting enough to hook them in, they will be more apt to visit your blog to read more. This boosts traffic to your blog by building a great impression of your brand across the platform.

By participating in a group, you encourage your audience to share your content as well as easily create engagement with them. If people like your interesting updates, they will surely click on them or visit your blog to hear more. As a result, you build a great impression of your brand across the platform, which will help you increase traffic to your blog.

If you are living in a hermit den and oblivious to this amazing way of attracting traffic and sharing worthy content, let me confide in you. However, if you try to spam it, prepare to get a lot of heat from Redittors. Solely based on user-generated content, Reddit is one of the best social media platforms for content marketers. If you want your content to share the maximum engagement rates, you need to share worthy content. Here is how you can make the most of this content distribution platform.

  • Reddit is brimming with subreddits, so you need to sort through the pile and select the best ones for your niche.
  • Redditors don’t respond well to people who seem overly promotional. Instead of focusing on yourself, engage with others in the community by downvoting, upvoting, or commenting.
  • Try your hands at different subreddits pertinent to your niche and see which ones work to your benefit. List down all the ones that fared well with you.
  • Here’s something to turn your smile into a frown. Reddit can block your functionalities unlike other social media platforms, if you are found sharing the same link in multiple subreddits.
  • Once you have gotten the gist of Reddit, its time to get your hands wet in it and start sharing your links. Remember that you will get negative as well as positive comments, so don’t lose heart and reply to all of them.

Know Your Audience, and Give Them What They Want

Before you start creating compelling, engaging, and successful content, you need to know your audience in and out. Keyword research can greatly help you in this regard, by focusing on what your target audience is looking for. You can leverage Google Trends to garner an idea of the market demand of your topic. Simply typing your target keyword into the search box will reveal how hot the topic is and how much engagement it has received over a specified period of time. You will be empowered to base your content creation on your readers when you know them better. The more user-centric your content is, the more effective your content marketing strategy.

Get on the Local Platform

How serious are you about local placement? Content marketing isn’t just to tap into an international audience; it also means to reel in customers and local clients as well. Bright Local has published statistics which testify that 97% of consumers use online search for local services and products. To put it in a nutshell, local placement should be an indispensable aspect of your content marketing strategy.

Local customers also rely on search engines to look up businesses around them. According to LocalVox statistics, 43% of web searches use a local keyword on a daily basis. Of those searches, 86% come from highly qualified leads. Almost always, these searches lead them to visit the physical locations or the website of those vendors.

Regardless of your overall content marketing strategy, you need to look out for keywords commonly used by customers in your locality. For web designers in Los Angeles for instance, they can attract clients from their locality using keywords like, web designers Los Angeles, Web design Los Angeles, website design Los Angeles, Los Angeles web design, web design company Los Angeles, web site design Los Angeles, or web design in Los Angeles.

You can jump on this strategy to target keywords relevant to your locality as well. However, unless you are physically present in a city, don’t use any local keyword.

Be Consistent

A great way to engage customers is to maintain consistency in your content. When we talk about consistency, publishing regularly doesn’t cut the bill alone. Maintaining a consistent quality, tone, and voice are also quintessential. A style sheet can help you curate a consistent tone and voice and you can plan consistent distribution with the help of a content calendar. These items can fine-tune distribution, notate special events, trigger the sharing of content ideas, and make your team stick to a clearly defined schedule. This will also help you gain an edge over your competitors.

Comment on Relevant Blogs

Commenting on a blog is a great way to attract the attention of the audiences of other bloggers and cement relationships with them. Not to mention, leaving thoughtful, positive, and detailed comments is bound to rub well with the author, as well as their followers. In addition, it won’t harm you to leave a link back to your website in the comments section so that people can click on the link and end up on your website. This can greatly channel traffic to your website. Remember to leave a valuable reply and not spam it. As an industry expert, your suggestions and feedback will be valued.

Build More Targeted Landing Pages

When Neil Patel created advanced guides on a lot of other internet marketing topics, such as SEO, his search traffic saw a massive surge. Each advanced guide was followed by its own landing page, which was optimized for the applicable keywords.

Nuffield Health saw a 60% boost in their revenue when they optimized their landing pages for the best keywords. They embarked on a journey of constant learning in their quest to know their customers and market inside out and then apply their discoveries to their content. In another example, each landing page of Copyblogger Media targets a keyword that the target audience is actively searching for. This is a splendid example of a brand developing a sound content marketing strategy. When it comes to creating landing pages, using the right keywords and building your content around them is the key.

Facebook’s Instant Article

Bloggers, content marketers and publishers looking to publish news can greatly benefit from Facebook’s Instant Article. This HTML-document is optimized for customized visual display, exclusive design, rich and engaging storytelling capabilities, and fast mobile performance. Facebook’s Instant Article is the only way for people who access Facebook through their smartphones to view articles on the app in the same format as the publisher’s website. Facebook’s Instant Article is great because of:

  • Analytics: web based analytic systems help publishers track articles
  • Customization: Multimedia can be incorporated within an article, such as geo-tagged media, audio-caption, and slideshow
  • Speed: stories are displayed faster than on a run-of-the-mill mobile browser.

Leverage SEO

If garnering organic traffic is your end goal, you need to incorporate accurate SEO seamlessly into your content marketing strategy. Highly ranked pages yield top-notch click- through rates, and this is where SEO jumps in; helping your website rank higher on search engines. A viable SEO strategy, complete with descriptive URLs, quality images, effective meta-descriptions, and long-tai keywords can boost website traffic and CTR.

Analyze and Optimize

Unless you are constantly measuring the performance of your content, you can never know for sure if it is driving enough traffic to your website.

Knowing what type of content performs the best is critical to content marketing and A/B is particularly useful in this regard. Cherry on top of the cake, split A/B testing helps you gain a deep insight into your target audience, which would help you create content tailored to their needs. Anything on your website that can affect user behavior can be tested, but the focus should be on elements that affect the flow of traffic to your site, such as landing pages, site speed, images, content length, call to action, and headline, and so on. Your social media strategy becomes clearer when you have determined which content types work best for you.

you go for this one.

While Buzzsumo is a go-to tool for many reasons, the one I found the most interesting is that it is a mixture of both SEO and influencer tools. In fact, in our whole list until now, we were only able to find Buzzsumo that offers both features.

A few ways you can use this tool to search for blogger outreach in 2019 is through two of its major features:

  • Twitter Influencers

Both of these features allow you to find influencers and bloggers that are associated with a high niche website. Once you have the connection made, ask the influencer for a guest post or a product review which will ultimately benefit you in guest posting service.

Currently, Buzzsumo is priced at $79/monthly for a basic version.

Now the big question, should you choose Buzzsumo?

Well, if you are an established business then choosing Buzzsumo would be a plausible idea. But if you are just starting out, then our recommendation is that you should not spend money on Buzzsumo because other better tools are available in the market that you can use for lower cost.

Buzzstream isn’t much different from Buzzsumo. It has the same influencer tools and also allows monitoring of twitter conversations, sending and tracking emails, and providing email templates. It doesn’t offer keyword tracking and trending articles about a topic or a keyword. But Buzzstream can get the job done especially when you are looking for blogger outreach tools.

It is currently available for $24 for two people. But the price can go up to $999 if 15 or more people would want to use the tool.

Email Verification Tools

Last but not least, we are providing a list of tools that can find if emails of the users are active or not. Because if the email addresses aren’t active, it would be a waste of time to formulate specific messages for them. That’s why we created this email verification list. is now known as Mail Shake. The best way to define Content Marketer is when you send cold emails to turn them into leads.

While this software is great, but it is complicated at the same time. The software allows users to search for influencers from the list and then pitch to them using its own platform.

Sending Cold Emails was never this easier. Mail-Shake aka Content Marketer allows users to send as many emails as they want through templates without wrecking their hairs.

Was that email you send delivered to the recipient? That’s the first question coming to our mind. The second question is, was it opened?! Answering both off these questions is a little difficult especially if you are new to the world of content marketing. But with it is now more possible than ever.

It is one great email outreach tools in 2019 because it allows users to find, verify, and track emails – helping throughout the email marketing journey.

We all love free stuff, don’t we? That’s why Hunter has provided 100 free requests through the software for literally free every month.

If you are a heavy user, then it is better to go for paid version. A basic paid version of the software will cut you back by $39.

The best part about the software? It comes with a Google extension that you can enable to instantly know the email when you visit a website.

Press Hunt

Imagine having a database of over 400,000 journalists’ email addresses right in your palm? That’s what Press Hunt email outreach tools do for you. It allows you to find emails of journalists from around the world to pitch them about your next big product. The tool scraps the web to find emails, social media links, phone numbers and everything else that is associated with journalists and bloggers. If you are looking for mass outreach campaigns for your blog, then this is one tool that you should have in your arsenal.

What if You Can’t Use These Tools?

There is a possibility that you are either not proficient enough to use the tools for blogger outreach, or don‘t have time to do so. So, in such a case, what should you do?

Delegate the Task

The best way to get the job done faster is by delegating the task to a blogger outreach service that has experts to get this sort of job done. They already have contacts with many bloggers and can easily form partnerships of your website. This includes cross blogpost exchange, promotions, announcements, and even press releases.
